CBD and Hemp Oil Information
CBD is the abbreviation for Cannabidiol, a substance produced by the hemp plant. The hemp plant contains more than 60 types of cannabidioids. Cannabinoids are compounds that affect the functioning of the human nervous system through the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
CBD, CBG and THC are the most common. They are all different in chemical structure and effects. The substance CBD is the most commonly used in dietary supplements. Thousands of years ago the Chinese discovered CBD and in a very short time it became very popular and was used for various purposes.
IS CBD LEGAL IN THE NETHERLANDS?
Yes, CBD oil is 100% legal in the Netherlands.
Yet there is uncertainty about it and that’s because of the following reason: CBD oil is sometimes confused with CBD oil. Hemp oil, also called THC oil, contains THC and good CBD oil does not contain this. THC is a psychoactive substance that is used recreationally, because it makes you high. This substance is illegal in most countries and therefore THC oil / hemp oil is also illegal in these countries. CBD is not psychoactive and is mainly used medicinally.
CBD oil is obtained from the hemp plant, which can be grown completely legally. CBD oil is used for young and old and even animals are increasingly administered CBD. The THC percentage in CBD oil must be lower than 0.02% to be sold legally.
IS CBD SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?
Yes it is! CBD oil is suitable for children. CBD is not psychoactive and for that reason also suitable for children. We recommend not to give CBD to young children and give them a low percentage of oil, build up the use per drop.
WHY IS THERE LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT THE EXACT EFFECT OF CBD?
Due to strict EU legislation, we are severely limited in providing information about the properties of our products. Despite all the known benefits of CBD, we are not allowed to make any medical claims unless they are listed in the EU database. Should you have any specific questions about any of our products, we are of course happy to provide you with personal advice.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD AND THC?
The hemp plant contains more than 60 substances. The two most important of these are without a doubt CBD and THC. CBD is the abbreviation for Cannabidiol and THC stands for Tetrahydrocannabinol.
THC is a psychoactive substance, which means that you get high when you take enough of it. CBD is not and that’s why recreational users more often choose THC oil instead of CBD oil. CBD is not psychoactive and is mainly used medicinally.
THC is banned in most countries. Because CBD oil contains less than 0,02% THC it is legal in most European countries and can be traded and used freely.
WHAT DOSAGE OF CBD SHOULD I TAKE?
Taking the right dosage seems to be of great importance with CBD. Yet it is not clear to everyone what the correct dosage exactly is.
The dosage differs per person and the strength of the CBD product that is used. We always recommend to start slowly, build up gradually and listen carefully to your body.
On our bottles of Bidocare CBD oil is listed a total percentage and the number of milligrams per drop. One 10 ml bottle contains approximately 200 drops.
DOES THE USE OF CBD AFFECT MY ABILITY TO DRIVE?
The CBD oil for sleep sold in the Netherlands may legally contain no more than 0.02% THC, a negligible content. With normal use of CBD it has no influence on the ability to drive and may therefore be used in traffic. There are also oils available with a much higher content of THC. These oils are NOT allowed to be used in traffic.
CAN I USE CBD DURING PREGNANCY?
We do not recommend using CBD during pregnancy. There has been too little research to date on how CBD might affect a pregnant woman or unborn baby.
CAN I TRAVEL WITH CBD OIL?
According to the Dutch Duane, substances and medications may be taken on vacation without concern, as long as they do not fall under the Opium Act. CBD is fortunately not covered by the Dutch Opium Act and within the Dutch borders you therefore do not have to worry.
Unfortunately, this does not always mean that the rules are the same abroad. Therefore it is good to send a message to the customs of the country you are going to. The easiest way is to do this through the website of the airport where you are going.
